Every now and again I try another “crazy” idea. Some are amazing. Some only “work.” And, some really don’t. Adding clay to light switch covers actually turned out pretty cool. My kiddos definitely loved these polymer clay monsters!
I made several of these covers. Each one was unique and was a custom order. I made one covered in flowers for a little girl. I made another for her brother, who really loved the long necks of herbivore dinosaurs, like the brachiosaurus (A.k.a. brontosaurus.) The wildest one I made was a basketball themed plate for a Cavs fan. And, then there were these guys…the cutest monsters, ever. I’m not sure they could be any sweeter!
Some features were made from glow clay. Their screws were cleverly hidden behind their eyes. Their hands were goofy and three dimensionally added detail. The teeth were placed such that the switches themselves seemed like extra teeth…Whenever I design a unique new item, I try very hard to think every last detail through–often times adding to my own insanity!
The following monsters were made for my own kiddos, and got them through the scariest years filled with any monsters under their beds. Having a friendly monster friend always helps.
